How it works

  • We count months until one month before your date, because final balances are often due before the wedding. Check your contracts for the real due dates.
  • Family contributions only count if they're confirmed. If a gift is uncertain, leave it out and treat it as a bonus.
  • Saving as a couple? We split the monthly amount evenly; adjust it to what's fair for you.

Questions

When should we start saving for our wedding?

As soon as you set a date and a total. The more months you have, the smaller each deposit. If the monthly amount looks too high, the levers are a later date, a smaller total or a smaller guest list.

Why do you count to one month before the wedding?

Many vendors want the final balance before the day, so saving up to the date itself can leave you short when payments are due. Your contracts have the exact dates.

Do deposits we already paid count as saved?

Yes. Add deposits you've already paid to "Already saved" so the calculator only counts what's left.
